Description


Mrs Lucy Yinda, is a lady who is doing amazing work in community service. Her vision to see a society where all street children and other vulnerable children and young people are transformed into fulfilled and responsible adults.


She is the Founder & Executive Director, Wema Centre. Wema Centre was founded in 1993 in response to the problem of an ever-increasing number of street children in Mombasa and the Coast region. She started out catering for 6 young former street girls in a rented three bed room house in Likoni. Since then Wema center have since expanded their work and have since reached over 42,000 children through various activities in Mombasa and Thika.


Come get inspired by her 20 year journey and also learn how you too can also organize, plan and get the word out about your cause, and make a difference with your life.


 

2. The Capital Markets Authority Forum for Young Professionals


Date:  Wednesday, August 27th, 2014, from 9.30am to 12.30pm

Venue: Castle Royal Hotel-Mombasa

The Objective of the forum is to create an enabling environment for participants to interact with the Authority and various capital market intermediaries to receive pertinent information that will assist them to make informed decision while participating in the capital markets industry. These include;

  • Opening and running a CDS account
  • The role of intermediaries in facilitating long term savings.
  • How you can start investing with as low as Kshs. 500.00
  • How to protect your shares
  • What you need to know about Unit Trusts (Collective Investment Schemes)
  • Available products and licensed market institutions
  • The 10 year capital markets master plan
  • The rights and obligations of investors

Thereafter a lunch with the participants.The event will be graced by the Authority Management and the Board, and officials from both the County Government of Mombasa and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This will be a high level workshop which will be graced by the entire CMA management and the Board.
