The Millionaires' Club: Starting and Running a Profitable Investment Club- Lessons from FEP Group

Are you in a chama or contemplating to join one?  Have your chama been in existence for the last 5 years? Is your chama still struggling in attracting new members 5 years down the line? 5 years down the road, only a few individuals (office bearers) bear all the load of keeping your investment alive?  Does all your investment club have are passive, low maintenance investments such as listed shares, treasury bills, bonds and a few acres of land on the outskirts of Nairobi? Have your group always discuss pursuing and executing much bigger investment opportunities endlessly, but nothing has ever materialized? Does your chama subscribe to the self limiting, self defeating myth of equality: equal shareholding and equal contribution, equal voting rights? Does your chama lacking a strong network of opportunity providers or deal flow providers?

We are FAYAd up!

The League of Young Professionals, an organisation formed to network young professionals in Kenya so that they can interact, expand knowledge, invest and give back to the society is commemorating 5 years of existence this year. For more information on LYP, please visit www.lypkenya.org.

To celebrate this feat and its achievements, the organization has started a campaign known as FAYA, an acronym for Five Amazing Years of Action. The campaign is intended to galvanise its membership into a movement of givers who will support various causes across the country.

Invitation: Sponsorship and Participation

We are pleased to invite you to sponsor and participate in this campaign and bolster our efforts of empowering communities. Through this campaign, we have targeted to directly empower at least 500 people in 5 counties, under 5 different themes.

The Opportunity: Visibility and Marketing

LYP is a strong organization with chapters in Nairobi and Mombasa with 1,000 members. Its membership cuts across entry level professionals, mid-level managers to leading executives in various corporate, government and nonprofit organizations. This is, undoubtedly, a strong target market for any corporate organization – sponsor.

In addition to that, LYP organizes 2 talks per month that are attended by about 200 professionals. There are also social and community service events that sponsor can take advantage of and position their brands. In addition, the FAYA will be a hugely visible campaign that will ‘permeate’ various media and social media platforms, ideal for sponsor’s visibility.

For more information on the various sponsorship categories and benefits, please find attached.

Looking forward to your support.

Most Sincerely,

Candy Loyanae

Coordinator,

FAYA Campaign
